How DDDStart works — from a DDD file to a clear report
DDDStart helps drivers review data recorded on their own driver card or tachograph. The report shows activities, possible infringements, technical events and data quality warnings.
1. Download the source file
Download data from the driver card or tachograph using a card reader or download device. Keep the original file on your own device: the service keeps only the 5 most recently sent files, each for up to 3 months after its last use.
2. Upload the file to DDDStart
Sign in to your account, open the analysis and choose a file. Files from driver cards and digital or smart G1, G2 and G2V2 tachographs are supported in the formats listed on the help page.
3. Review the data and warnings
- activity chart: driving, other work, availability and rest,
- date range and completeness of records available in the file,
- possible infringements of driving, break and rest rules,
- tachograph events and faults, plus technical data,
- signature and certificate verification status, where the file format allows checking them.
4. Understand the result status
Unverified means there is not enough evidence to confirm the item concerned. It does not automatically mean tampering. A possible infringement is a prompt to check the context and rules, not a determination by an inspection authority.
5. Save the report
The report and analysis history are available for up to 12 months after creation, unless deleted earlier. The server keeps the 5 most recently sent DDD files; older originals are deleted automatically, as is any original not used for 3 months, so keep your own copy if you may need it later.
Questions and answers
Do I need a computer program?
Not to analyse a file: a browser is enough. Downloading card data requires a card reader or a download device.
Does the result replace an inspector's decision?
No. The report is an aid and depends on the data available in the file and the checks performed.
Do the original files remain in my account?
Only the 5 most recently sent. Older originals are deleted automatically, as is any file not used for 3 months; analysis history and reports are available for up to 12 months after analysis and can be deleted earlier.
