This is the minimum requirement for a Bluetooth connection in DDDStart. The Smart 2 label alone is not enough.
On the tachograph, open Display → vehicle → DTCO version and read the firmware version.
You can also select Printout → vehicle → technical data and find the version identifier.

Have an older version? Ask a tachograph workshop whether your unit can be updated. Pairing your phone does not update the firmware. Available readings depend on the model, tachograph firmware and ITS permissions granted.

Enable Bluetooth on your phone. In the tachograph's driver menu, open Bluetooth, then pairing and connection.
Select the tachograph on your phone. Compare the six-digit codes and accept the matching code on both the phone and tachograph.
Once the connection is confirmed, open DDDStart. Removing the driver card disables Bluetooth on VDO.

Check ITS data sharing consent, your DDDStart sign-in and Driver Assist access in your account. Disconnect another app using the tachograph, then reconnect in DDDStart.
Do not treat an empty file as a completed download. Leave the card in the tachograph and keep the app on screen. Try again while parked. If the error returns, use Report a problem in the app.
